What inspired you to become a Licensed Professional Counselor?
My path to becoming a counselor has been deeply shaped by my own past trauma and life challenges. As Maya Angelou said, “As soon as healing takes place, go out and heal somebody else.” This quote reminds me that our personal growth can become a source of hope and strength for others. Having worked through my own experiences and found healing, I developed a heartfelt desire to support others on their own journeys. I believe healing is not something we do alone – it is a shared process. As a counselor, I strive to walk alongside individuals with empathy, understanding, and encouragement as they navigate their own paths toward healing and recovery.
How would you describe your counseling style?
I would describe my counseling style as compassionate, collaborative, and holistic. I meet clients where they are, listen to their unique stories, and tailor evidence-based approaches to their needs. I integrate therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy with a heart-centered approach that considers emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational well-being. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their emotions, overcome trauma, and build resilience. For me, healing is not just about recovery, it is also about learning, growth, and meaningful transformation to thrive in every aspect of life.
