EMDR therapy is an evidence based practice meaning there is a lot of research backing it up. EMDR traditionally uses back and forth eye movements which tell the brain to pull up stuck feelings, images and sensations to process out and dispose of. EMDR is not hypnosis or meditation. You will not leave quacking like a duck! You will end EMDR therapy with the facts of what happened but not have the strong emotions, intrusive thoughts or images.
