Katie Turek
ATR, NCC, PMH-C, ICDVP, Clinical Staff
Hello! I’m Katie, a Nationally Certified Counselor and Art Therapist. I use an integrative and approachable style to compassionately help children and adults navigate life’s challenges. As your therapist, I will work WITH you to set and achieve your individual goals based on your personal needs. Your circumstances are unique so your counseling strategy should be, too!
With a decade of experience in working with children and adolescents, I’ve seen many kids progress and gain resiliency by combining trauma-informed care with psychoeducation and art therapy interventions. Common goals addressed with my Nealer clients include how to identify and safely express feelings, how to develop coping skills and self-regulation strategies, and how to increase effective communication and the use of non-violent conflict resolution.
In addition to working with children, I highly enjoy working with teens, adults, and families. One of my favorite parts of my job is helping others feel empowered and assist in building healthy relationships and strong support systems.
I also have an innate passion of supporting individuals as they transition into parenthood. Specializing in perinatal mental health, I am equipped to screen and treat a variety of overwhelming issues that can arise in the pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum period.
My clients enjoy my contagious energy, warm personality, and optimistic attitude. To learn more about my specialties, please visit our service pages for “Art Therapy” and “Pregnancy & Postpartum Support.”
