Cost of Therapy in Clayton, MO
Cost matters — but fit matters more.
Finding a skilled therapist who’s the right fit for you is the most important factor in getting real results. It can mean the difference between making progress and spending money spinning your wheels.
Session Rates & What to Expect
Greenway Therapy is a self-pay practice, which means you pay for sessions directly at the time of service. This model allows us to focus entirely on your care, without the limitations that insurance companies sometimes place on treatment duration or methods.
Rates vary by therapist based on experience, specialty, and licensure. During your free consultation, we’ll walk you through pricing for the clinician who best fits your needs, so there are no surprises before your first paid session.
Using Your Insurance Benefits
A lot of clients assume out-of-network therapy means paying everything out of pocket. That’s not always true.
Although we don’t bill insurance companies directly, at your request your therapist will provide you with a superbill — a detailed statement you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Please keep in mind that submitting a claim for reimbursement carries some risk, since we can’t control how your information is used once it’s submitted. Not all therapeutic issues are reimbursable, and it’s your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage.
Check Your Coverage
Not sure what your plan covers? It only takes a couple of minutes to find out.
Your insurance provider can tell you whether they’ll reimburse you directly for the out-of-network services you’re seeking, provide your deductible status, co-insurance rate, and an estimate of your out-of-pocket cost per session. It’s always best to know your insurance coverage before you ever book an appointment.
How It Works
01 — Check Your Coverage See your estimated out-of-network benefits in just a couple of minutes, so you know what to expect financially before you start.
02 — Book Your Free Consultation Every new client starts with a complimentary phone consultation. We’ll talk through your goals, answer any questions about fees or the process, and make sure it’s the right fit.
03 — Start Sessions Once you’re matched with a therapist, sessions are billed directly at the time of service — simple, predictable, no invoices to track.
Fees & Insurance FAQ
Do you accept insurance directly? No — Greenway Therapy is a private-pay, out-of-network practice. We don’t bill insurance companies directly, but we can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement.
How do I know if my plan covers out-of-network therapy? The fastest way to check your coverage is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, deductible, and co-insurance rate.
What is a superbill? A superbill is a detailed receipt — including diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and therapist credentials — that you submit to your insurer yourself for possible reimbursement. Just ask your therapist and we’ll provide one.
Is submitting for reimbursement risky? Submitting an invoice for reimbursement does carry some risk, since we can’t control how your information is used once it’s submitted. Not every therapeutic issue is reimbursable, so it’s worth confirming the specifics of your coverage with your provider first.
Are telehealth session fees the same as in-person? Yes. Fees are the same whether your session is in-person at our Clayton, MO office or via secure telehealth.
I still have questions about fees. Who can I ask? Your free consultation is the best place to ask anything about fees, insurance, or the process. You can also reach us through our contact page.
